Cornerstone Virtual Academy (CVA)!!!
Beginning in 2011, Cornerstone Prep will make available a variety of virtual (online) classes to our students. The availability of taking virtual classes allows us to have a broader option of classes and add additional AP classes. It also allows us to offer classes that meet at a time that works for the student if our regular classes aren’t available to them because of a schedule conflict!
Our purpose in offering these virtual classes is to provide a virtual option that is not only academically strong, but also has a strong Biblical worldview incorporated. There are a myriad of virtual classes available across the nation, but very few that incorporate the Biblical worldview that is so important to our school. These classes will integrate wisdom and teaching from God’s Word coupled with high academic standards. All classes meet or exceed state standards and come with SACS accreditation as well as ACSI endorsement with the courses provided through a partnership with Sevenstar Academy.
The normal course charges apply to virtual classes ($125 per semester hour). Registration for virtual classes does not involve any additional registration fee other than the normal CPA registration. The majority of the virtual classes do not require a purchased book or material fee. Cornerstone Prep, however, will assess a $25 virtual administrative fee for each virtual class each semester rather than a material fee since we will be overseeing the student’s progress.
Virtual classes may be taken during the school day using a Study Hall (at normal study hall charge) on campus OR done completely at home. All earned course credit becomes a part of the student’s Cornerstone Prep transcript, not transfer credit. All CVA courses are governed by Cornerstone Prep academic policies.
CVA is open to current Cornerstone Prep high school students with classes available for the following purposes: scheduling conflicts, AP classes we don’t offer, credit recovery, and electives we don’t offer. A student may take a maximum of two online classes per semester. Please note interest on the registration form. Enrollment in CVA classes is subject to Academic Dean approval and requires a CVA advisement meeting with student and parent.
