Cornerstone Prep is excited to welcome Brittany Watson spring semester 2017 to our school family as she interns for Jillian Cosgrove, director of student counseling.
Ms. Watson joins us from Liberty University, where she is completing her master's degree in school counseling. She graduated from Kennesaw State with a bachelor's in psychology. "I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and learning firsthand from Mrs. Cosgrove what school counseling is all about," said Ms. Watson.
"My journey to Cornerstone is proof that God works in our lives even when we cannot see it. I first heard about Cornerstone two years ago from a friend, but never imagined God would lead me here for an internship so clearly. Throughout my education I always pictured working in the public school system, however my concern would be the limitation of not being able to talk about my faith with the students," she said.
"For the past five years I have had the opportunity to work on staff at Piedmont Church with the student ministry so sharing about my relationship with Jesus is what comes natural to me. After preparing for several months to be placed in the public school system for my internship, I was told last minute that the placement fell through. By God clearly closing the door to that opportunity He led me directly to Cornerstone to an environment that encourages students, teachers, and staff to all talk about their relationship with Jesus. I could not be more excited and thankful for the opportunity!"
Please tell Mrs. Watson hello and how blessed we feel that God opened the door for her placement here at Cornerstone Prep.
