Our theme verse for this year has been chosen for a specific purpose, and that is to remind us through these next exciting months of construction, that what is truly important are the “living stones” that will occupy the building, not just the mortar and stones going into construction!
We have finally gone vertical, and this phase of construction is exciting because you can now begin to see where the classrooms will be, what the hallways will look like, and what the campus will become at completion.
Throughout the process, however, we don’t want to get caught up in just the building. We want to be reminded continually that the people, the “living stones”, who will occupy the building are what matters.
As things stand right now, it does look like the building will be completed around Thanksgiving, and we are planning to spend December getting moved in with the new furnishings as well as learning all the new systems involved in our facility.
We have decided to alter the school calendar slightly to accommodate moving time and time for the teachers to get settled into their new rooms. We will not have classes on Thursday or Friday December 17-18. Secondary exams will be moved up to Monday-Wednesday, December 14-16. To allow us to give credit for the days missed, student assignments for the days missed will be a service project of their choice. More information will follow.
We were scheduled to return for our first day of spring semester on Monday, January 4, 2016, but classes won’t begin until Thursday, January 7. Assignments will be given for January 4-6 to be done at home. More information will be coming about what our Open House will look like on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6, 2016. Save the Date! Tentatively, high school students and parents will have Open House from 8:30-10:30 a.m., middle school students and parents from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and elementary students from 1:30-3:30 p.m..
Throughout the next months of August, September, October, and November we have some special events planned surrounding the new campus!
