The 2007-2008 season for winter sports saw the Cougars take to the
pool for their first experience as a swimming team. Under the
direction of Coach Katie Marie Sowell, now Mrs. Katie Marie Wright, a
small group of Cornerstone students made school history as the first
swim team for the school. Much to the pleasure of the swimmers and
parents, Mrs. Wright will return as the swim team coach again this
season. The team was made up of swimmers with little to no experience
and a couple of young athletes who looked to have their sights set on
an Olympic experience one day. This is a sport where both boys and girls compete.
