And She Did
Marsha Robbins

This week marks the three-week countdown to the Elementary and Secondary Back-to-School days and the start of the 2019-20 academic year. Faculty and staff are busily preparing and looking forward to the arrival of the CPA families that God has brought to partner with us this year. Even as we eagerly look to the future, it is fitting that we pause to recognize God's leading and grace in bringing Cornerstone through its first fifteen years, and particularly to celebrate and honor Mrs. Borders' legacy of vision and leadership as she followed His call in this work. Our English Department Chair, Mrs. Allyson Manning, wrote a poem that accurately reflects honor for our Founder Emeritus, Jeanne Borders.

And She Did
Allyson Manning

She was told she could do anything she set her mind to
And she did.
She was told she could dream anything that her mind could imagine
And she did.
She was told she could create the feeling of hope and love through her words
And she did.
She was told she could find ways to be soft and caring yet strong and daring
And she did.
She was told of the great value she could find only in a Savior who died
And she did.
She was told she would have a limitless future if she only knew Who held it
And she did.
She was told she could leave her mark on this old world
And she did.

Thank you, Mrs. Borders, for your legacy of vision, courage, and faithful leadership. With God's grace, we continue to "partner with parents to build within their children a firm foundation of academic excellence and Christian discipleship." Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it, Psalm 127:1a (NASB).
