Have you ever started reading a book series and became so engrossed in the story line that you could hardly wait for the next volume in the series?

Authors are gifted in not revealing the entire story; otherwise, there would be little incentive to continue in the series. As you are eager to see how the story unfolds, you may even pre-order the next volume so you can be assured to be one of the first to receive it when it is hot off the press.

This is a feeling similar to the one I experience at the close of each school year as I observe the seniors taking part in the last events of their high school career. If each school day were a page and each school year a volume, the 29 members of Cornerstone's Class of 2021 who graduated last Saturday now have 13 school volumes on the bookshelf of their lives and are just beginning the draft copy of the next volume in the series.

Woven throughout the graduation weekend events were challenges to follow the Lord, even when it means walking out of one's comfort zone; living a life of impact and significance as the definition of success; comparing oneself to Christ rather than man; and acknowledging that a life committed to the Lord will not be the easy path to follow.

Now, this sounds like a best selling page-turner full of challenge and adventure. God's Word reminds us:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
Do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek His will in all you do,
And He will show you which path to take."
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

This scripture is our prayer over the Class of 2021. We eagerly await to read the next volume in the series!
