One of our prayers for our students is that they pursue their God-given passions both at Cornerstone and beyond. Hannah Gurniewicz (‘14) has done exactly that as she brings her passion for the pool to Acworth.
Hannah attended Berry College on an academic scholarship and was a member of the Viking swim team. After graduating in May with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a minor in business, she accepted a job as an assistant swim coach at Tidal Wave Swimming in Acworth and plans to pursue swimming as her career.
“My favorite part about being a swim coach is working with my swimmers on something and them being able to finally succeed, whether that be getting a best time in a race, swimming a race they have never swam before, or just mastering a new stroke,” she said.
Hannah credits Cornerstone for giving her the time management skills and flexibility in schedule that she needed in order to succeed as a college athlete. Because of her experience as a University-Model student, she is now in an ideal position to relate to the elementary-aged homeschool groups that she coaches at Tidal Wave.
