- Student Stories
During the December elementary chapel, Pastor Nolan challenged our elementary students to share the good news of Jesus with others. He provided them with three HOPE tracts to aid them. Third grader Waverly Pritchard not only took his words to heart, but she also put his message into action.
That afternoon she bounded into her mom’s car, full of excitement about sharing the gospel with someone who needs to know Jesus loves them. “Immediately, she showed me the tracts and said that she had to give them to people that don’t know Jesus. She knew right away that she wanted to send them to an aunt and uncle that don’t know the Lord,” said her mom, Christie Pritchard. “When we got home, she went straight to her room to get stationery, wrote them a letter that said she had a gift for them and loved them. She stayed on top of me until we had it addressed, stamped, and mailed.”
Off to Starbucks with Pops
Waverly’s next stop was off to the local Starbucks with her grandfather. Waverly’s grandfather is passionate about telling others about Jesus, and that passion has rubbed off on her. Waverly said, “I don’t want people to go to hell, I want them to go to heaven.”
Before entering Starbucks, Waverly and her Pops prayed. While there Waverly gave one HOPE tracts to the cashier “because he looked kind of bored and like he needed something to get through his day.” “The other one I gave to a lady in Starbucks that was really, really nice. We made friends with her, and I wanted her to be a Christian,” she said.
A Heart for Others
According to her mom, “Waverly has always had a heart for the salvation of others. She constantly wants to know if people know God. She asks me all the time if famous actors, musicians, random people in a store, neighbors, old friends, etc…know God. She remembers them in her prayers.”
Cornerstone is thrilled to see this next generation reaching out to tell others about Christ and providing the world with the one true HOPE. We are grateful that Waverly is a World Changer.
