Cornerstone Cares Day one of my favorite days of the school year and here is why:

  • It’s a day of serving with the best elementary students in the land! I love that we have a day set aside for our students to come together in a hands-on, interactive time of service.
  • Rise Against Hunger is meeting a global need. As many as 783 million people around the world don’t receive enough nutrition to lead an active, healthy life, provide for themselves or their families. They target remote, last-mile communities within hunger pockets designated “serious” or higher on the Global Hunger Index, which are the hardest places to reach and are often difficult to access, lack communication and have poor infrastructure. With the support of their global impact partners, they practice locally-led development by providing expertise vital to empower local communities and providing meals through local schools to incentive attendance and enable kids to obtain an education. It all starts with a meal, and over the years, Cornerstone Prep has packed about 90,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger!
  • Our unique school model fosters the parent-child relationship in such an intentional way. Cornerstone Cares Day is an example of that and it’s a joy to see our students serving alongside their parent(s).
  • Even the tiniest hands can make a difference! Packing meals together at the Rise Against Hunger Warehouse in Marietta is interactive and engaging for students of any age.  Even younger siblings are able to get in on the action!
  • I am thankful to be a part of a school that puts a high priority on serving others. As our students grow, they progress from a day of service in elementary to a week-long IMPACT trip in high school where students lead, learn, and serve together both locally, across the country, and internationally.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

As we look forward to another day of serving next year, we would love to have your input. Please click here to complete a short 2-3 question survey to help us as we plan for our 2024-25 day of service.
