Service

Cornerstone Prep values service to others because we believe it brings others to Christ and is a biblical mandate from Jesus. With Christ as our ultimate example of a life dedicated to service, we strive to instill service to others as a genuine character trait in each of our students. It is our desire that our students discover the joy of serving others, just as Jesus said about himself in Mark 10:45, that He came “not to be served, but to serve.”

Annual Service Opportunities

While students have many opportunities to serve each other each day, Cornerstone also provides students with several opportunities to serve our community throughout the school year.

  • Cornerstone Cares Day - a day is set aside in the spring for elementary families to serve in the community
  • Middle School Service - 7th-graders organize the school-wide Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection, while 8th-graders incorporate a day of service into their annual fall field trip
  • IMPACT - a week-long leading, learning, and serving opportunity for our high school students

Leaving a Legacy Initiative

Our students are expected to participate in a wide variety of community service opportunities and projects throughout high school. Leadership and service are the two key components of our Leaving a Legacy initiative.

To help our students develop their hearts toward service, our high-schoolers must meet a minimum requirement of service hours each year prior to promotion or graduation. During their senior year, our 12th-graders are required to complete a capstone project, during which they consider their God-given gifts, talents, interests, and passions as they explore a final in-depth service project.
