Cornerstone Cares

Cornerstone Cares is an opportunity for our elementary students and their families to walk beside those in our community to lend a helping hand and offer the tangible love of Jesus. As we reach out to those who have needs that we can meet in some way, our prayer is they will see the light of Jesus and give Him the glory.

 

Our desire is to help cultivate in our students a heart of service, so they would not view serving as simply a one-time event in which they participate, but instead as a lifestyle of servanthood. God gives us opportunities every day to serve Him and serve those around us. As followers of Christ, we are called to a life of servanthood.

 

 

 

Beginning in September, a Cornerstone Cares Chapel Challenge is introduced each month. These challenges are simple, age-appropriate acts of service designed to help students begin looking for opportunities to serve within their own sphere of influence.

 

Challenges start close to home by asking, “How can I serve my family this month?” Each month, the challenge expands a little further as students learn to look beyond themselves and their immediate surroundings, eventually asking, “How can I serve globally?”
 

After each Challenge Chapel, parents receive a Chapel Recap Newsletter that includes highlights from that day’s Chapel, along with questions and conversation starters to help engage students in a meaningful conversation about what they learned.
 
The hope is to provide an easy way to continue the conversation at home and reinforce the truths each child is learning at school.

 

Our hope is that our students will come to understand that following Jesus is not simply about what we believe, but also about how we live.
Every day is Chapel day, and every day is a day to serve others.
