Fall Semester MS Final Exams Canceled As you know, last week we were made aware of two positive COVID-19 cases within our middle school. Due to Cornerstone's strict adherence to close contact tracing protocol as established by the public health department, we now have half of our middle school students in quarantine leading up to and including the first scheduled day of semester exams.
Because of this, we have decided not to hold final exams for all seventh and eighth grade courses for this semester only. We do not believe it is in the best interest of our middle school students to administer comprehensive exams worth 20% of a student's grade when many of these students are new to the final exam experience and without the benefit of in-person instruction or review prior to exams. Therefore, this Friday, December 11, will be the last day of the fall semester for all middle school students. All assigned work must be submitted by class time on Friday, December 11.
Thank you for your understanding and support in this decision. We fully expect to return to our regular, published exam policies and procedures in the spring, which includes no grade-based exemptions for exams in middle school, thereby allowing your student the full learning experience of comprehensive exam preparation and completion.
Praying peace and good health over your families this season.
