In Case You Missed It At Back To School Day

Parents and students, we wanted to ensure you were aware of the following updates/reminders for the upcoming 2021-22 school year.

  • NEW: Please be aware of our unexcused absence policy. Secondary students who elect to miss class, not due to illness or emergency (see "unplanned absence") or pre-approved planned absences, are viewed as being absent by choice. In such cases, students may not have the opportunity to make up missed classwork. Missed scheduled tests or quizzes will have an automatic 20-point deduction applied to the grade
  • NEW: If an assignment is missing and it can still be made up according to our makeup work policy in the handbook, your teacher will put an M in the grade book. Your teacher will notify you of the deadline.
    • If the work is not turned in by the deadline the “M” will become a Zero.
    • Zeros cannot be made up.
    • Parents and students will receive email notifications when an “M” or Zero goes in the grade book.
  • Doors open for student access to the building at 8:15 a.m. this year (change from last year).
  • As you may know, Chef Mike retired this year. Students will need to bring their lunch every day unless they pre-order a meal on Fast Food Fridays. We will not have any emergency lunches on hand.
  • No drinks or food may be brought into the building in the mornings or at any time other than lunch. If you swing by Starbucks or Dunkin on the way to school, you will have to finish your drinks outside. Students may not have siblings or friends bring them outside drinks during the day. Water is the only beverage allowed in the hallways and classrooms.
