School Campus Closing Beginning Fri, Mar 13 As we closely follow the dynamic nature of the COVID-19 and recognize parental concern over other school and university closures, we wanted to provide our school community with an update specifically related to Cornerstone Prep. We continue to take the precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention (CDC). Additionally, the local health departments are highly engaged in communicating school and community-specific recommendations for school and/or business closures. While there are no presumptive or confirmed COVID-19 cases among the Cornerstone Prep school community, the school administration and board have decided to follow Governor Kemp's recommendation that schools close for two weeks beginning tomorrow. Please Note:
As a staff, we have already been in planning sessions in order to ensure that our remote learning plan will meet the continued education needs of our students, while keeping in mind that a five day per week home education plan may need to look different from the current university model that allows regular in-classroom instruction and contact between teacher and student. Our number one priority is that we maintain the learning momentum and not lose the valuable personal connections between home and school that create an educational atmosphere built on relationship and accountability.
All students should follow their published lesson plans for Friday, March 13 (no classes on campus). Teachers will be on campus for a workday, after which we will release information on the family portal section of the website that will describe the details of school, parent, and student responsibilities for remote learning. Our plan is to foster the valued home and school relationship as we facilitate the high level of learning to which you are accustomed.
