Around Cornerstone: News

Cornerstone Staff Counts Their Blessings

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and rejoice. While traveling and planning for the big day can be stressful, there’s nothing better than connecting with the ones we love. It is also a wonderful opportunity to take a moment and appreciate all that we have.

We asked our Cornerstone staff to share something meaningful that they’re thankful for this year, and we received many great responses, with a recurring theme of valuable coworkers, incredible students, and involved parents. Below we’ve highlighted a few of our favorites.

Cornerstone’s Supportive Atmosphere

“Being able to work in a Christian school, where the staff, parents and students love Jesus and work together to make this school so awesome. I love working here and am so grateful for my job.” -Erin Richardson, MS Math

“I am grateful for a wonderful Christian environment to teach students!” -Angela Eeles, Elementary & MS

“A job that allows me to share my faith and love for Jesus in such a beautiful way!” -Angela Daniel, Kindergarten

“My Lord and Savior! My family who constantly support my ministry to students! My Cornerstone colleagues who love and encourage me! Each and every one of my students! You all make me laugh, grow in my faith, and refine me....and their precious parents who are a blessing and a gift from our Heavenly Father! Thank you all for your prayers and support! May each of you have a blessed Thanksgiving reflecting on God's goodness and soaking up all the beautiful moments that this holiday season brings!” -Kelly Sparks, HS Math

Family

“Psalm 127:3a 'Children are a gift of the Lord.' I am thankful that each of you are sharing your children with us at Cornerstone, and for the talented and caring staff that serve them each day! On a personal level, my heart is full of thankfulness for the recent birth of my first grandchild as God showed up BIG in blessing our family with this sweet miracle baby.” -Marsha Robbins, Head of School

“A new granddaughter, Ella, born Nov 4 and a wonderful group of 6th graders that I get to teach and laugh with each Tuesday and Thursday!” -Ginger Braund, Elementary Math

Our Heavenly Father

“A loving God that supports us and is here for us in our struggles and is always good, even when circumstances are not. And I appreciate that He consistently shows us His reasons for His decisions and always works for our good.” -Jillian Cosgrove, Director of School Counseling

“The assurance and hope I have in Christ is first and foremost what I am thankful for every day that I live. Knowing that He is sovereign and that He is good makes everything that happens to me and my family a blessing because we know that it came from Him.” -Connie Jennings, Secondary Math

Working with Incredible Students and Partnering with Parents

"The opportunity to encourage young people to learn about the Lord and to grow in their relationship with Him." -Scott Edmondson, Elementary/Secondary Teacher & Assistant Athletic Director

“I'm thankful for my students and the extraordinary privilege to be a part of their story. They keep me laughing and on my toes. What a gift it is to be a part of this CPA family!” -Emily Varner, HS Computer Science

“Great students who never cease to amaze me! As I reminisce about the 8th grade D.C. trip and as I prepare for an all senior IMPACT trip in March, I can honestly say I am grateful to spend time with our students. From my very first trip with Cornerstone students, 10 years ago to now, I have enjoyed and am thankful for every opportunity I have had to spend time away from school with students. From Chattanooga to Guatemala and New York City to Logan Farm Park, each trip, short and long, has been a blessing. They provide opportunities to really get to know students; their personalities, their interests, and their quirks! I am grateful to see how the Lord is growing each and every student and to see the foundation that families have established in their children. I am grateful to partner with parents who truly want, more than anything, for their children to love and live for Jesus!” -Pastor Nolan, Director of Student Ministries

We are especially grateful to have you as part of The Cornerstone Family.

Wishing you a restful and joyful holiday.
