One of the most wonderful things that happens at Cornerstone is chapel. From the precious singing of second-graders to the student-led worship time in high school, our chapels are created specifically for their respective age groups.
Chapel for both our elementary students as well as our middle/high school students is a powerful opportunity for our students to learn more about the Lord and to grow in their relationship with Him.
Each year, much thought and prayer goes into deciding the overall theme for chapel. The following themes are ones that have been impressed upon Pastor Nolan’s heart for the 2019-20 school year, and we’re so excited to share them with you.
My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart. Psalm 7:10
Elementary students will learn to have courage through the mighty power of Jesus while learning scripture and how to apply it to their life. We want our students to realize that God isn’t just an important person in the Bible, but that He wants to be a part of their everyday life.
Middle school students will be studying the Old Testament this year. Starting with an Old Testament interactive survey from Walk Thru The Bible during the retreat and followed up in chapels, students will receive a greater understanding of the Old Testament scriptures.
High school students will be studying the book of Proverbs in chapel and small groups. A different Proverb and memory verse will be assigned each week with an incentive in their Bible classes for students to memorize the verses. They will start their study with Proverbs 1 during the week of August 12. Click here for the study guide: Proverbs Study Link
The spiritual goal for Cornerstone Prep is that our students would graduate with a biblical worldview. Chapel is one avenue we use to teach, engage, and reinforce this goal. We are anticipating God to move in tremendous ways this year as His plan continues to unfold for our students, teachers, and our administration.
As always, should you have any questions regarding chapel, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Pastor Nolan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
