Cornerstone Prep received a $500 mini-grant from Cobb EMC on Jan 7. Mark Justice, director of education and community relations at Cobb EMC, presented the check to the following Cornerstone representatives: Director of Information Technology Landon Cunningham, Head of School Jeanne Borders, and Director of Admissions and Development Cindy Gurniewicz.
The money will enable Cornerstone to purchase a crane jib, which will be used to enhance three videography classes for middle school and high school students. Those classes will use the studio lighting to assist in live broadcasts, prerecorded broadcasts, video interviews, and cinema-style projects.
"It is our desire to have students working with and using professional video equipment that they would use in college and/or the workplace," said Mr. Cunningham. "Not only will the crane jib enhance our videography classes, it will allow the students to gain experience and knowledge at a higher level, setting them up for future success."
Cobb EMC awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process.
