Alumni Spotlight on Cassie Petersen ('19)
WHERE ARE YOU LIVING CURRENTLY?
Birmingham, AL
WHAT DID YOU PURSUE AFTER GRADUATION?
I’m attending Highlands College, a two-year ministry school, and am enrolled in the Events and Conference program.
HOW HAVE YOU SEEN GOD WORKING IN YOUR LIFE SINCE GRADUATION?
The Lord is really teaching me so much about myself and the calling He has on my life since I’ve come to Highlands College. Being involved at Cornerstone and my home church, First Baptist Woodstock, really set the foundation for my life of full time ministry!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH CURRENT CORNERSTONE STUDENTS?
Don’t take for granted the opportunities you are given. I’m so thankful to have gone to a high school where Jesus was apart of the core values. Take chapel seriously, learn as much as you can, and enjoy every moment!

As we reached out to teachers to share how they mark this Easter season, one thing became clear: while the settings and details vary, the heart of Easter remains the same—Jesus is alive, and that impacts everything.
Congratulations, Eli!
For most students, checking the weather is just about deciding whether to grab an umbrella or wear a jacket. But for Cornerstone eighth-grader Nate Carroll, it’s much more than that! Nate has turned his lifelong fascination with the skies into a meaningful contribution to his community by becoming a certified Weather Spotter for the National Weather Service (NWS).
At Cornerstone, our seniors don’t just graduate with knowledge; they graduate with a deep understanding of what it means to serve, lead, and love others as Christ calls us to do. Their legacy of compassion and faith will continue to inspire long after they leave our halls—because the impact they made isn’t just for a grade; it’s for life! Today, we’re sharing just a few of this year’s projects, all connected by a common theme. You’ll be amazed at what these young adults accomplished and how their efforts will continue to impact generations.
We enjoyed a fun evening of family entertainment featuring our wonderful students.
