Meet Joshua Greene, a 2020 Cornerstone graduate who is now walking boldly in his calling as the Young Adult Pastor at Mount Paran North Church in Marietta, Georgia. A Marietta native and proud Shorter University alum, he earned his degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Christian Studies in 2024. His time in college included playing on Shorter’s men’s basketball team and serving as an assistant coach, experiences that helped sharpen both his leadership and teamwork.

At Cornerstone, Joshua immersed himself in all aspects of student life, sports, yearbook, theater, and anything that involved reading, writing, or speaking. One of his favorite memories is acting in Peter Pan alongside one of his best friends, playing the role of Michael Darling. He looks back on those years as foundational, not only academically, but spiritually. “Attending a Christian school meant I could grow intellectually without having to constantly defend my faith. It wasn’t perfect, but knowing I was surrounded by people who shared a belief in Christ was rare and valuable.”

He also credits teachers like Mrs. Howell for making a lasting impression, sharing, “I still remember how much fun she made learning in my earliest years. I could list so many other impactful teachers. Cornerstone is full of them.”

His faith journey deepened during high school as he learned the importance of staying rooted in God, even when life wasn’t going smoothly. “I began to see that I couldn’t base my relationship with God on my feelings or circumstances. That shift has been essential in every season since.”

Now in full-time ministry, Joshua sees his Christian education influencing him daily. “The worldview classes at Cornerstone helped me understand how to meet people where they are and share Jesus in a way they can receive. It’s not about winning arguments, it’s about reaching people.”

One quote that has stayed with him over the years is from C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters: “Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one—the gentle slope, soft underfoot…” He reflects, “It reminds me that comfort isn’t always good. Sometimes the greatest danger is spiritual complacency.”

When asked what advice he would give to current students, he offers this wisdom:“Hold tightly to your faith, your family, and the things you truly love, not because they impress others, but because they matter to you. Be open to change, but stay anchored in the truth.”

To him, success means doing his best with whatever God places in front of him and trusting God with the rest.

Prayer Request:
Please pray for continued wisdom in leadership, protection over his family, and growth in the Young Adult ministry he leads.
