It's a Small World After All

It's a Small World After All

From a Christian school in Acworth, Georgia to the creativity and crowds of California, God is at work, connecting people, places, and purpose in ways only He can orchestrate.

At Cornerstone, we emphasize community, discipleship, and living out faith beyond the classroom. Recently, that vision came to life through an unexpected collaboration reaching all the way to Disneyland. What began as a professional opportunity has become a testimony of how God uses His people across seasons, careers, and miles to work together for His glory.

A God-Ordained Opportunity

Kristin Jones, a kindergarten teacher at Cornerstone, and her husband Ben have had the incredible opportunity to be part of a special Disney project. The couple, who have a daughter, Kensington, currently in 7th grade at Cornerstone, say the experience has been especially meaningful for their family.

Ben, a longtime Disney artist, was invited to design 15 trading cards for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration. While not his first project with Disney, this one felt especially meaningful because it became something bigger than just the work itself.

“As soon as Ben got the request, we knew we wanted our friends involved,” Kristin shared. “We quickly invited them to join us.”

Community That Extends Beyond the Classroom

What started in Georgia didn’t stay in Georgia.

Kayla Rininger, a 2018 graduate, is one of those connections. After returning to Cornerstone to teach for a few years, she is now living in California with her husband, Josiah, continuing to use her gifts in creative and impactful ways.

“Connecting outside the school walls has been amazing, especially bringing together my love for our school and Disney,” Kayla shared.

For this project, Kayla contributed photography that helped bring Ben’s artwork to life. In addition, she now creates Disney-themed designs and experiences, helping families make meaningful memories, using her gifts in ways that reflect both creativity and purpose.

Shared Gifts, Shared Purpose

Another familiar face in this collaboration is Jenny Turner who also played a key role by capturing photography inside the Disneyland parks.

Jenny, a former Cornerstone drama teacher, now works as a travel agent, combining her love for people, planning, and meaningful experiences. She and her husband, Scott, are raising their two children, Mason and Mia, with Mia currently in 7th grade at Cornerstone.

“We stood waiting on the monorail for 20 minutes to get the perfect shot,” Jenny recalls. “All four of us loved running around, competing for the perfect photo.”

What may seem like small moments were actually part of something bigger; people using their unique gifts together, united by shared faith.

Reflecting Christ in Every Calling

For Ben Jones, the opportunity is about more than art, it’s about purpose.

“If you’re a lawyer, show the world what Jesus would look like as a lawyer. If you’re an artist, show the world what Jesus would look like if He were an artist,” he said.

In an industry that can often feel isolating, Ben sees his work as a way to reflect Christ and point others toward deeper truth.

Working alongside other believers with that same mindset made this experience even more meaningful.

Kayla echoed that perspective, sharing how even the beauty of the parks points her to something greater. “The parks reflect the beauty of God’s design. It’s amazing to imagine how much more beautiful Heaven will be.”

God’s Work Doesn’t Stop at Graduation

From Georgia to California, this story is a reminder that God’s work doesn’t stop when students leave the classroom, it expands.

These connections reflect years of intentional discipleship, relationships built on faith, and a community that continues to impact lives far beyond campus.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” In the same way, God continues to grow and shape His people, wherever He calls them.

The impact of a Christ-centered education extends far beyond graduation. The relationships built here matter. The values instilled here matter. And the calling placed on each life matters.

A Bigger Story Still Being Written

Walt Disney once said, “Disneyland will never be completed… as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

In a much greater way, God is still writing stories, connecting people across states, careers, and seasons for His purposes.

May this story encourage us to step boldly into wherever God has called us. Whether in our careers, our homes, or across the country, we have the opportunity to reflect Christ. There is no limit to what He can do.

God’s work doesn’t stop here, and neither does the community! Stay connected on Facebook and Instagram, and join us for our Information Meeting on Tuesday, May 5 at 9:00 a.m. in the Cornerstone Den to see how you can be part of what He’s doing.
