Little Hands, Big Impact

Little Hands, Big Impact

They may be small, but their impact is HUGE. These young hearts and hands will be stepping up in extraordinary ways to support Rise Against Hunger. From creative fundraising ideas to thoughtful acts of generosity, these students are proving that even the smallest effort can lead to BIG change. You won't want to miss all the ways our students are leading the charge!

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
Hebrews 13:16

Handmade With Love

Several students have turned their artistic talents into fundraising efforts by crafting and selling handmade items.

Brianna Parker (1) channeled her creativity into making and selling bracelets, raising an impressive $41 for Cornerstone Cares.

Haley Winkler (4) has been making stylish bracelets, selling them for $1- $2 each, with custom orders available for $5. So far, she has raised $30 and is eager to continue. “I want to raise more,” Haley shared.

Baking for a Cause

What better way to raise money than through delicious homemade treats?

Sophia Reardon (6) teamed up with her mom to bake a variety of homemade, mostly organic bread—including banana bread, banana pumpkin bread, banana chocolate chip bread, and artisan bread. “I am very excited to be able to raise money for Rise Against Hunger,” Sophia shared.

Cataleya Santana (K) took a different approach by selling popcorn through her mom’s social media account and personal outreach. In just two days, she was able to raise $200 to donate to Rise Against Hunger!

Cleaning Up & Lending a Hand

Some students put in hard work through yard work and household projects to earn donations.

Tabitha Hartley (3) and Piper Hartley (1) found ways to serve their family members in exchange for donations. They raked leaves, cleaned out gardens, repainted statues, and even donated a box of toys to Mostly Mutts. Their hard work paid off, raising a combined total of $140!

Josie Magnuss (6) spent hours raking and bagging pinestraw from two different yards, filling approximately 15 bags in total. “I even got a few blisters,” Josie admitted, but she was proud to contribute her earnings to the cause.

Young Entrepreneurs

Several elementary students took part in garage sales, selling household items to raise funds.

To help raise money for Cornerstone Cares Day, Allie Gambrell (3) had a stand in front of her house where she and her friend Maggie sold art pieces that they made, and her big sister Taylor Gambrell (5) sold hot chocolate.

Cooper Ridder (5) earned $25 by selling some of his things at a family garage sale, while Stella Lebhaft (1) took it a step further by selling some of her mom’s items—raising an impressive $40!

And, in true entrepreneurial spirit, Isaiah Moore (2) has raised over $400 selling firewood.

Meanwhile, Nina Kate(1) and Jase Roginsky (5) are bringing a touch of spring to their fundraising efforts by selling sunflower seeds harvested from their garden. “We sprouted a sample of seeds to test for viability,” they explained. They are offering packs of 25 assorted variety sunflower seeds for $5, with bulk orders available at a discount.

Sadie(5) and Maggie(3) Sherwood set up a stand in their driveway, selling artwork, lemonade, bracelets, and cookies. Their little brother even joined in, contributing his own drawings. “We made fresh, hand-squeezed lemonade to go along with some chocolate chip cookies,” they said. Their hard work has already brought in $40, and they are excited to raise more!

Our students are proving that even the smallest hands can make a big impact. Through creativity, hard work, and a heart for service, these young fundraisers are showing what it means to give back. Their dedication to Rise Against Hunger is inspiring, and we can’t wait to see how much more they will accomplish! You can help us reach our goal by contributing to our Rise Against Hunger Day!

Rising Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger is driven by the vision of a world without hunger. Their mission is to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable and creating a global movement to mobilize the necessary resources.

Cornerstone Cares, our day of service at Rise Against Hunger, is an opportunity for our elementary students and their families to come together for a day of service to shine the light of Jesus and give God the Glory. On Wednesday, March 26, our elementary students, along with their parent(s), will partner with and pack meals for Rise Against Hunger at their warehouse in Marietta. All of our elementary students will have the opportunity to pack meals! “It’s an impressive sight to witness and we’re blessed to once again be part of the fight against hunger,” added elementary principal, Mrs. Daniel.

What Is Our Total Goal?

Our goal is to pack over 13,000 meals! To meet our goal we need to raise $4,500 which is equivalent to $30 per elementary student. 100% of your donation goes to Rise Against Hunger and is tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to providing meals for those in need. Join us in making a difference—because together, we can create a lasting impact!
