Cornerstone Preparatory’s faculty has grown this year and with each addition comes new opportunities to develop our extraordinary learning environment as we continue to offer top-rated education.
Each new teacher was selected for their skill and expertise in their respective departments and we are excited to welcome them as they bring their unique gifts and experiences to the Cornerstone Prep team.
Ryan Archer-Algebra II
My wife Paren and I have three children; David, Selah and Luke. I am very excited to be around the amazing Cornerstone staff and families. When I’m not at Cornerstone, I enjoy kayaking, coaching, exercising, and reading.
Ryan Caskey- AP Computer Science Principles, HS Computer Science, and HS Robotics
My wife, Megan, and I met on the mission field 17 years ago, and have now been married for 13 years. We have two children, and both of them will be attending Cornerstone this year: entering 3rd grade is our daughter Haven, and entering kindergarten is our son Lawson. I am looking forward to investing in the lives of highschoolers as they prepare to enter college, not only with the real-world experience I have, but also spiritually. I'm excited to see students get excited by what technology has to offer, and hope that I can show that technology is not as daunting as some may feel. I hope that I can encourage them to continue to pursue a degree and career in technology if it excites them. When I’m not at Cornerstone, I am very involved with Bible Study Fellowship and enjoy investing in the lives of other men in the group. I also enjoy software engineering, 3D printing, and anything space or rocket related. I especially enjoy playing Kerbal Space Program and contributing to its modding community.
Rebecca Hansen- Elementary Yearbook
I have been married to my husband Chris for 17 years. We reside in the North Paulding area with our two children and rescue pup. Our daughter Morgan will be in 9th grade and our son Grant will be going into 4th grade, both here at Cornerstone. I love telling the Cornerstone story through my role as Social Media Specialist and I am so excited to add Elementary Yearbook to my schedule this year. When I’m not at Cornerstone, you’ll find me cheering from the stands at my son’s baseball games and shuttling my daughter to and from Impact Dance. We are busy, but we are full of joy. God is so very good to us.
Daniel Hicks- HS Understanding the Faith and HS Understanding the Times
I have the joy of teaching Understanding the Faith and Understanding the Times to tenth and eleventh graders this school year. My family and I moved to the Kennesaw area almost three years ago to join the staff at North Metro Church as the Community Groups Pastor. I still work at North Metro Church and have been in full-time ministry for seventeen years. My wife, Heidi, and I just celebrated our eighteenth wedding anniversary and we have three children. Isabel is fifteen and just completed her first year at Cornerstone where she enjoyed cheerleading and playing soccer for the school. Carson is thirteen and also just completed his first year at Cornerstone where he enjoyed playing basketball and golf. Kylie is ten and she attends Gracepoint. As a family, we enjoy all things sports (especially the Georgia Bulldogs and the Masters), being outside, hiking, paddle boarding and playing board games. We are so excited to be at Cornerstone and look forward to another great year.
Kristin Jones- Kindergarten
I have a wonderful husband named Ben, our 7-year-old daughter, Kensington, and our four-legged 8-year-old boy Milo. We have been apart of Cartersville First Baptist Church since 2008. That is truly our other family. My husband is a deacon and we both teach in kids ministry. Ben works at Mohawk, managing designers and is an illustrator on the side. My favorite work he does is for families we know and Disney. We live out in the country, near Cartersville, where we feed cows, get dirt on our hands, dream of having horses again, and get to see God’s amazing sunrises and sunsets! I am very excited to work at Cornerstone. God has given me a skill to teach children and I’m very thankful for a place to make little disciples! Most of all, I’m excited to love on families and foster God’s calling on their life! We like to workout and walk the cutest little dog ever. I love rocking on my front or back porch, reading a book. I love spending time with my family and friends (that are like family)! Nothing makes me happier than opening up my home to others.
Meredith Pitts- 3rd Grade History
I have been married for almost 19 years to my husband, Christian. Christian works for a general contractor and is on the Cornerstone board. Our oldest, Jackson, will be in 8th grade, Natalie in 5th, and Davis in 2nd. We are entering into our 9th year at Cornerstone and are so blessed and thankful for the education, community, and flexibility we’ve had here! I’m so excited to be able to give back to the school that has given us so much and to join others in teaching our kids the Truth! We recently bought a fixer-upper house in Dallas on 5 acres and can’t wait to start our own little farm! When I’m not at Cornerstone, I love to read, spend time with friends, camp, and right now, remodel my house.
Mandy Starnes- 4th Grade Science
I am so excited to be back in the classroom and teaching 4th Grade Science at Cornerstone this year! I look forward to exploring God's creation with my young scientists. Outside of Cornerstone, I enjoy teaching English online to Chinese students. I also love hiking and going on date nights with my husband of 19 years, Jimmy. We have a soon-to-be seventeen-year-old son named Caleb who loves the outdoors and wants to be a Marine. We also have a daughter, Millie, who loves baking and painting. She will be going into 9th grade at CPA this year.
Please join us in welcoming them to the Cornerstone family and visit the Meet Our Staff page for more information.
