During the busy back-to-school season, it's hard to remember all the areas of prayer concerning our school. To help her family get out of the rut of praying about the same things over and over again, Cornerstone mom Trina Alleyne created a 30-Day Prayer Calendar and Prayer Prompts to specifically pray for Cornerstone.
“Prayer calendars help us to be intentional about praying for our school," said Alleyne. "And I love how our family prayer times always lead to great conversations!”
The Alleyne family has enjoyed being a part of Cornerstone Prep for the last four years. Five out of their six children are currently enrolled at Cornerstone in kindergarten, third, fifth, seventh, and eighth grade.
“Cornerstone is more than a place to receive an above-standard education; it's an extension of our family," continued Alleyne. “The teachers, staff, and parents all work together for the common goal of giving our children a Christ-saturated education that impacts them now and for eternity.”
Below, Alleyne shares with us a few scriptures and encouragement we can use to set the pace for our return to school, as well as keep a posture of prayer everywhere we go.
“Ultimately it is God Who will protect and take care of our school, students, and staff; not our efforts,'' added Alleyne. "So we must pray and act with wisdom and prudence, which I believe we are doing with excellence. We must never forget to go to God in prayer and put our trust and confidence in Him alone to take care of us and our great school.”
“Do not fear chaos, COVID-19, crime, uncertainty, or catastrophes, but fear Christ!” added Alleyne. "Matthew 10:28 says, And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."
“I have heard it said many times that we are living in uncertain times," said Alleyne. "But when we think about it, times have always been uncertain. We have ultimately never known what was going to happen tomorrow. But we have slowly started to trust in the 'certainty' of what we think is going to happen. Stay the course and stay focused on your eternal prize, standing before God Almighty and Him saying 'Well done!' Just the thought of seeing Christ, my Savior, is enough to get up every morning. It's His grace that will allow me to face and go through whatever happens in my life.”
We must never forget to go to God in prayer and put our trust and confidence in Him alone to take care of us and our great school. We have faith that as you and your family pray God's Word over our school, it will bring comfort, peace, and encouragement.
